What is Design Science Research?

Design Science Research is a design-oriented research paradigm that deals with the systematic design and evaluation of artifacts. The research paradigm draws on methods and underlying philosophies from various disciplines such as business administration, behavioral sciences, engineering sciences, and computer science. By combining scientific rigor and practical relevance, solutions and design guidelines are developed that consider both practical problems, such as a business task, and the human factor.
