My research

The digital transformation allows people to participate in shaping their environment more easily than ever before. Together with IT, this becomes the concept of Smart Participation.

In my research, I am concerned with the design of digital support for Smart Participation. This is characterized by its collaborative structure and is built on aspects of bottom-up participation. My work draws on the research paradigm of Design Science Research, which is based on the scientifically grounded design of information systems. In doing so, I apply collaborative and participatory research methods and further develop existing process models towards more stakeholder integration.
